How your organization handles this difficult transition will make all the difference for those who are let go, and those who remain. A group approach to handling such a situation can provide an economically sound solution for the your organization, and will ensure that all terminated employees are provided with the solid support that they need to get another job.
An Overview of the Program
The goal of this program is to provide each participant with a high impact resume and an individualized job search plan. Participants receive a Dise & Company Career Transition Workbook that includes an explanation of the program, job separation exercises, new job target identification plan, and a resume questionnaire. Through group sessions, employees learn how to take charge of their own job search.
Group and Individual Sessions
Dise & Company will provide the highest quality, comprehensive career transition workshops. In addition, individual appointments are scheduled with one of our consultants to review any aspects of the group sessions, including:
- Crystallizing career goals: identifying the “ideal” job
- Identifying strengths and communicating them effectively – learning how to market yourself
- Using time effectively in an unstructured environment
- Learning all avenues of a job search – networking, employment agencies, advertisements, Internet services
- Practicing effective interviewing methods
- Negotiating for a new position and compensation
- Creating and implementing a job search plan.
All group sessions are staged to minimize disruption of final workplace responsibilities of the employees.
What Participants Can Expect
Upon completion, participants should be prepared to handle their own job search with confidence. In addition to learning crucial job search skills, they will have a professionally written resume (and cover letters) and a definitive plan to follow.
Non-Exempt Program
Often the non-exempt group needs special help to deal with difficult circumstances. Dise & Company offers a program for hourly employees that includes a basic overview of fundamental job search methods as well as a professionally prepared resume.
Our group programs are not “one size fits all.” We are available to discuss your organization’s needs and create a program that will positively influence your employees’ view of how well they were treated in difficult circumstances.
