Our client is currently seeking an experienced human resources professional to join the leadership team in the position of Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources will have the primary responsibility, as a strategic partner, of formulating partnerships across the organization to deliver value added initiatives to support organizational goals. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for managing recruitment and staffing initiatives, performance management, compensation & benefits administration, organizational development, employee relations, and training. Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners with executive management in the development of human resources initiatives to ensure alignment with the organizational priorities and guidelines. Provide effective leadership within the human resources department in the deployment and execution of human resources initiatives
  • Lead workforce planning and talent management processes to address competency, knowledge and talent gaps in the areas of staffing, talent development and succession planning.
  • Establish processes and tools to improve the overall recruitment process. Develop effective tracking mechanisms to monitor recruiting effectiveness related to cost, timeliness, quality and retention.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all employee programs and practices against relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of employee issues.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Seeks the advice of legal counsel when necessary.
  • Oversees the design, implementation, communication and administration of all company benefits including health and welfare plans and the 401(k) retirement savings plans.
  • Collaborates with executive management and leadership in the development of competitive compensation programs.
  • Directs the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and on-going administration of HRIS to meet HR informational needs.
  • Continual development and delivery of effective performance appraisals and ongoing feedback.
  • Identify training & development needs and recommend training solutions that are in alignment with business objectives. Assist in the design, development and facilitation of training processes.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective level of business literacy about the business, its culture and its competition.
  • Excellent consulting and business literacy skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal requirements to guide leadership, provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to support minimization of legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Strong conflict management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effectively envision, develop and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a business discipline or HR related field.
  • 10 years of progressive human resources experience developing and implementing strategic HR plans.
  • 5 years of experience in a senior human resources and leadership role providing HR expertise for a healthcare organization with multiple locations is preferred.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and HRIS databases (preferably ADP-Workforce Now) is required.
